Looking for something fun to do in Parry Sound? Get ready to be wowed, because Parry Sound is a lovely seaside town that’s bursting at the seams with interesting and entertaining things to do and see, Chuck Murney. All over the world, people come to this small town to enjoy its renowned outdoor activities, restaurants, and local attractions.
The town is full of wonderful things to do, such as hiking, biking, shopping, eating, and sightseeing tours and charters.
What to eat and drink
We love eating at restaurants that overlook the stunning Georgian Bay (though some of these are seasonal), but there are also some other great choices.
Try some ales, lagers, and sours from Trestle Brewing Company if you’re interested in local craft beer.
Outdoors
One dope way to check out a fresh spot is to hop on a bike and see it from a whole new angle. If you’re not into hauling your own wheels with you on your journey, no worries! Just rent one from Parry Sound Bikes and have a blast exploring with a self-guided bike tour, a rad fat bike experience, or an epic mountain bike adventure.
Massasauga Provincial Park is a perfect place to satisfy your wanderlust. A variety of outdoor activities, including primitive camping on Georgian Bay, hiking trails, and boating, are available in this stunning park. The Calhoun Lodge provides a glimpse into 1930s cottage life.
There is plenty to do at the Georgian Nordic Outdoor Activity Centre in the winter. Take advantage of their expertly groomed trails by hitting the road in your cross-country skis, fat bike, or snowshoes. Paddling around Nine Mile Lake and Mill Lake is another great option for summertime exploration.
There are six kilometers of waterfront trail available at the Rotary and Algonquin Regiment Waterfront Fitness Trail. Along the pink granite ‘fitness trail,’ or “trail,” there are five fitness stations that can be used while biking, running, or walking. Historical and community information is presented through interpretive plaques for the benefit of all who visit. This trail can be accessed from a number of different points, including Champagne Street, the Town Dock, the Charles W. Stockey Centre, Great North Road, Sail Parry Sound, Salt Dock, and Waubuno Beach.
For fun and games
Take advantage of the sightseeing tours, restaurant cruises, dinner cruises, and private charters that Island Queen Cruise Company offers around Parry Sound’s well-known 30,000 Islands.
If going fishing is your idea of the ideal vacation, you can, of course, make reservations for a guided fishing charter, rent a boat, or take a water taxi to get to the location where you will be fishing.
Golfers will find this region to be a paradise thanks to the presence of not one but six breathtaking courses and a golf academy.
The vibe at Waubuno Beach is super chill! The waters there are usually calm and not too deep, perfect for a relaxed swim or just floating around. And you won’t find any garbage or yucky stuff on the beach—it’s all soft, clean sand. Plus, this place has got it all! There’s a playground for the kids, volleyball courts for some friendly competition, snack bars to satisfy your cravings, water fountains to keep you refreshed, bicycle racks for the sporty types, and restrooms for when nature calls. No wonder this awesome beach scored the Blue Flag—it’s the ultimate spot for people of all ages to kick back, chill out, and have a blast!
